Reading for Stamina

Reading to ourselves and building our reading stamina! We ended up reading for about 25 minutes today once we started without interruption. Way to go fifth graders!

Here are some pictures from the first day of school! I apologize for the blurriness on some of them.

Day one is in the books!!!

We had a great first day of school! We did some fun icebreaker games to get to know each other. Ask your child if they were able to stump the class when we played two truths and a lie! We found out some interesting things about each other. We also made a giant web with a ball of yarn and answered questions about our favorite band/song, fun things we did this summer, and what we are looking forward to the most about fifth grade. Our kids seem really excited about all of the fun things we will be doing in fifth grade! 

Homework for tomorrow: Everyone received a brown paper bag. Fill your bag with three things that represent you or things that tell something about yourself. If they don't all fit in your brown bag, that's okay. Get excited about another great day tomorrow!
