Holiday Break Challenge

• Read a whole book and create a summary/report - get an electronic/device party!
• If you work on your ALEKS pie (not quicktables) for at least 3 hours - you earn a homework pass!
• If you move up into 6th grade math - you earn your way into a special pizza party.
• Come up with the most dollar words - lunch with Mr. Schmitz paying for it.

Have fun, rest up, and have a great break with your family!

Litzsinger Ecology Center

Garden Planting

Today we were able to plant some native Missouri plants in our new garden at Sappington. We had visitors from the Litzsinger Ecological Society visit to help us. We will visit them on December 1st. Check out some pictures below.

Native American Dwellings

Sappington fifth graders have been learning about Native Americans and how they adapted to the land around them with the resources that were available to them. Our fifth graders did the same by building a Native American dwelling of their choice with their own resources.

Below you will see a variety Native American dwellings including pueblos, teepees, roundhouses, wigwams, large houses, and longhouses. Students used their creativity by using things they could find in nature and things they had lying around the house. Check out the incredible results of their hard work!
